Bike Trail 

The Historic Pascagoula Bike Trail was established to provide residents and visitors with historic tour of the City. The trailhead sign is located at Lighthouse Park on Fredric Street.

Community Ride

A group of cyclists comes together the second Saturday of every month to ride the bike trail. Consider joining them! Meetup time is 8:30 a.m. at Beach Park.

How to Share the Road

Tips for Bicyclists

Follow the Rules of the Road

  • Ride with the follow of traffic in the right half of the right most lane
  • Obey the same laws as motorists including all traffic control devices (stop signs, traffic lights, etc.)
  • Use the rightmost lane
  • Always use traffic hand signals before you switch lanes or turn

Use the Proper Equipment

  • Always wear a properly fitted helmet
  • Replace helmet after a crash or other impact
  • Use headlights, taillights, and other reflectors to be seen at night
  • Make sure your tires are properly inflated

Be Safe

  • Be predictable avoid swerving
  • Wear bright colors to increase your visibility
  • Be aware of your surroundings

Be Aware

  • Bicycling is an ever-increasing activity. As a motorist, expect to share the road with cyclists
  • Cyclists have the same rights on the road as motorists

Be Considerate

  • Do not use your horn when cyclists are near
  • Per the 3 Feet Law, it is illegal to harass a cyclist in any way

3 Feet

  • Mississippi's 3 Feet Law requires motorists to maintain at least a 3 foot distance between a vehicle and cyclists when passing.
