MAY LUNCH BUNCH TRIP – The day was full of surprises beginning with a stop at the newly built Mississippi Sandhill Crane National Wildlife Refuge in Gautier followed by a stop at the beautiful and unusual Gryder home in Ocean Springs. Lunch was at D’Iberville’s “High Cotton” and then a stop at the Moran Art Studio. 

 

DIABETES HEALTH DAY – Friday, June 6, 8:30am-2pm .  Free Glucose testing, education services and literature, information on pain-free glucose monitors, Diabetic shoes and pain management systems.  Call for info. or to pre-register.  1-800-595-1998

 

CAREY DINNER THEATRE -  We will make our annual trip to William Carey University for their summer performance.  We will see “Smoke on the Mountain Homecoming”, set in 1945 in the Blue Ridge Mountains and features the “Sanders Family Singers”, with Bluegrass and Gospel music.  “Homecoming” focuses on the return of the family to Mount Pleasant Baptist.  Tickets are $25 each and includes a buffet dinner.  We will leave the center at 4:00pm , on JUNE 27.  Cost:  $25.  Must be paid by June 13. 

 

LIVE WELL HEALTH SCREENING – Friday, June 27 at the Senior Center .  Screenings will include:  Carotid Ultrasound, Carotid Intima Media Thickness, Abdominal Aortic Aneurysm, Peripheral Vascular and Atrial Fibrillation.

FOURTH OF JULY CELEBRATION – Our annual SUMMER PIC-NIC at Beach Park is Tuesday, July 1.  One of our favorite entertainers will be on hand with his wonderful Gospel Music, TOMMY MOSELEY!  We will fry fish and grill  hamburgers that day. Sure it’s going to be hot, but that wonderful gulf breeze will make it    oh, so bearable!  Make plans to enjoy the  new pavilion at Beach Park and plan to stroll out on the new pier!  Come early and stay late!  Be prepared for some of Tommy’s greatest hits and hear all about his latest accomplishments in the Gospel Music Industry!

 

JUNE LUNCH BUNCH – Friday, June 20.  We are planning a trip to Wiggins/Stone County. We will leave the center at 8am and return about 3:00pm .  Cost is $20 and is due by Tuesday, June 17.  Lunch, transportation and admits are included.

 

CERAMICS DAY TRIP – We will travel to DOGWOOD CERAMICS in Gulfport to pick up ceramics supplies then have lunch at the BLOWFLY INN.  Trip date:  Wednesday, June 11.

We will leave the senior center at 9:30am and return right after lunch.

 

BILOXI SHRIMP TRIP –(July Trip)  We are booked for Friday, JULY 25.  Yes, we are actually going shrimping on a real shrimp boat! For those of you who have never been or for those who did it years ago, here’s your chance! (or chance, again!) Cost is $25 per person and that includes lunch (not from the boat!).  We will leave the senior center at 7:30am and return after lunch.

 

SENIOR PROM PHOTOS – We don’t have them yet, but probably will by the end of next week.

BLOOD PRESSURE CHECK – Lisa from Kare-In will be back on June 10, from 10am - Noon .  Remember to fast if you want blood sugar and be here early!

 

PARTNER DANCING WITH ALBERTO -  Class meets Wed. at 10am .  New students welcome.

 

LINE DANCING WITH ROYMAE – Class meets Thursday at 9am .  Join anytime!

 

BIBLE STUDY – Class meets Thursday, 10am .  We’ll begin Chapter 18 in the Book of John on June 5.

 

YOGA – Relaxation and stretching techniques and well prepared motions of this exercise form are quite beneficial.  Thursday, 2pm .

 

BROWN BAG – Lunch time entertainment the last Fri. each month at M&M Bank, outside near gazebo.

This month, “Triage” will perform @ 11:30am-1pm .
